The "B-body" platform is the Caprice/Impala . The "D-body" are the Buick Roadmaster / Cadillac Fleetwood. It was produced from '77-'96. The "A-bodies" are Chevelles/Malibus and their corporate cousins (Le Mans, Skylarks, etc.), and were produced from '64-'77. They became "A-specials," which are Monte Carlo/Malibus and their cousins, and were built from '78-'80. These cars were known as "G-bodies" from '81-'88. The "A-specials and G-bodies" are usually lumped together from '78-'88, and known collectively as G-bodies.
The B-car is a larger platform than the G-body, and the older A-body platform is different as well. Basic suspension design is the same (RWD, body-on-frame construction) but that's about all they share.
The "F-body" is a totally different animal, and refers to the Camaro/Firebird platform (1967-present are all F-bodies). It is also RWD, but uses a unibody structure rather than the traditional body-on-frame like the Impala. FYI, the F-bodies are divided into generations"..1st Gen. is '67-'69, 2nd Gen. is '70-'81, 3rd Gen. is '82-'92, and 4th Gen. is '93-present.The only usable F-body part on our cars (to my knowledge anyway) is the 2nd. Gen WS6 front swaybar.
And, the only similar G-body parts are the front shocks and idler arm. AFAIK, nothing from the A-body will work in our car (though the thought of fuel-injecting an LS6 454 from a '70 Chevelle and stuffing it into a 9C1 has crossed my mind.
